The problem though is mip-mapped textures cost VAS which is probably why they weren't added in the first place. If you add mip maps to textures there will be a huge visual improvement. Would be interested in a solution too! The reason for the 'lack of AA' look is not your AA settings it is because the A textures by default are not mip mapped.
